Hey! I want to focus on your digital art right now. One thing that is really important to remember is that digital art is not that different from traditional at all. Try not to take any short cuts like the blur or smudge tool, instead when shading use a combination of a low opacity brush and the eye dropper tool to blend your colors smoothly. (If I ever find the tutorial I learned that from I'll link it to you) Speaking of tutorials, make a folder in you favorites specifically for them and follow at least one group dedicated to tutorials. Read (and favorite so they're easy to refer to later!) all the ones you find useful. I found this to be a major help in developing my own artistic skills. But the most important thing to do is to draw, just practice AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Look at artwork by professionals, and pay attention to the way their strokes are made and the way they use colour and light to draw your attention. In this drawing, Sapphire beauty (which is awesome btw, love you red eye thingy) you used a very soft brush to colour and shaded as if it was a solid smooth object. Don't be afraid to spend a few hours, or even days on one drawing, and make sure you zoom in while colouring. I find using a harder brush with a lower opacity around 20-30% gives the softer affect better than an actual soft brush (this is opinion of course, so take that lightly) unless you want the object to glow. Also, the background in Sapphire Beauty looks rushed. Its fine, as you audience's attention is on the dragon, but to give your drawing a stronger and more appealing look, I's suggest to blend more (not with blur or smudge tools!) and add more depth. You dragon is in the foreground, you need a stronger middle ground and the background. Maybe add mist in the middle-ground and the background that dark-blue.
Anyway, just remember to practice everyday, don't afraid to make major changes or try new styles of colouring! I hope this helped, and I'll keep looking for that darn tutorial to link to you!
